Longkou is located in the northwest part of Jiaodong Peninsula on the north bank of Bohai Bay at the east longitude 120o 13′to 47′and north latitude 37 o 27′to 47′, neighboring Yantai to the east, Weifang to the west and close to Qingdao to the south, facing Dalian, Qinhuangdao and Tianjin across the sea. The total area is 893 square kilometers and the coastline is 68.4 kilometers long.
Longkou City has a monsoon climate of temperate zone with clearly distinguished seasons and pleasant weather. There is neither severe cold winter nor intense hot summer. The annual average temperature is around 11.7℃ and annual average rainfall is 583 mm. The frost-free period is more than 190 days.
